Magnolia bark, or Magnolia officianalis, is one of the 50 fundamental herbs in traditional Chinese medicine.
Magnolia bark contains honokiol, magnolol, aporphine alkaloids, neolignans, polyphenols, and aromatic compounds.
It is most often brewed in tea. A good starting dose seems to be 1-2 grams, or about 1-2 tsp of bark.
Caution: Magnolia bark can reduce blood pressure, and may interact with blood-thinning medication.
