***This listing is for 1oz of this blend***
This blend contains an even ratio of the three primary medicinal lotus species, blue lotus (Nymphaea caerulea), red lotus (Nymphaea rubra), and white lotus (Nelumbo Nucifera).
These lotus species have a long history of use in ancient Egypt, India, and Greece. They have been used medicinally, as well used in religious rituals and as a mild inebriant when soaked in wine. The effects are often described as calming and meditative.
Blue lotus and other lotus species contains a variety of compounds including aporphine, nuciferine, nornuciferine, phytosterols, flavonoids, and polyphenols.
When used in tea, a good starting dose seems to be between 1-2 tbsp (approx. 1-3 flower heads), though higher doses are not common.
